Myrtle Beach Life & Living

Welcome to Myrtle Beach, SC - This is a very welcoming sign for Snowbirds!

Welcome to the Myrtle Beach Life & Living Section of Our Website - Good Info for Snowbirds and Anyone Looking for Information you Won't Find in the Coupon Books!

We decided to add a section of our website for anyone interested in Myrtle Beach life and living – especially for winter snowbirds (like us) who might be looking for information about the Myrtle Beach, SC area. Our first winter was 2008-2009 when we spent 5 months living oceanfront in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach. Our second winter was from January – April of 2010, which we spent in a different oceanfront condo in Myrtle Beach (Southwind on the Ocean just north of 52nd Avenue North, near the “Golden Mile” and the “Cabana Section” of Myrtle Beach).

This "Welcome to Myrtle Beach" sign is at the location where Business 17 and ByPass 17 split. We have become quite fond of the area – not only because it is substantially more temperate than our northern New Hampshire winters – but also because of the friendly people we continually meet here. In fact, it seems that we make new friends so frequently here in South Carolina, that we need to return if for no other reason than to spend time visiting with them!

Unlike many snowbirds, we are not yet retired; however, we are fortunate that our work is internet based. Take this very website, for instance. Writing and promoting this website is a good part of my work. And it is work I thoroughly enjoy. So, we decided that dedicating a section of the site for the Myrtle Beach part of our life made a lot of sense.

In the Myrtle Beach pages that follow, it is our hope to give you a glimpse into this place we have come to know and love. It will not be our intention to offer reviews of the more commercially advertised restaurants and attractions since we tend to gravitate towards the lesser known and “off the beaten path” types of places. We try to be as objective as possible.

Because we are not here on vacation, we have not stayed at the resorts that are offered by Global Resorts Network (GRN) which we promote here at Fine Resort Vacation.com.  However, we will try to visit some of the resorts to get a feel for what is available through your GRN membership, and fill you in on what we discover.

We’d like to start with talking a bit about our impressions of some of the Myrtle Beach restaurants we’ve enjoyed.

We'll also talk about some of the supermarkets, and which ones we go to (and why).

We just started this page, so please check back since we're out getting some photos and other information to add as we go along! Thanks!
